Black Friday is an American tradition, handed down by American store owners from the Sixties. Black Friday is celebrated the day after Thanksgiving, when all the store owners in America offered fantastic discounts to promote shopping for Christmas gifts.
But why is it called Black Friday? Why does it have to be a “black” Friday? There are two different theories in regard to this:
The first theory is that in the Sixties, accounting records were in red for the accounts having a loss, while in black for those with a profit, and thanks to the big discounts of 60%, 70% and 80% offered on Black Friday, the accounts were definitely with profit.
The second theory is that the name comes from the traffic on the streets caused by Black Friday. Virtually every American poured into the streets, attracted by these mad discounts, valid only during the day after Thanksgiving.
Outside the United States the Black Friday tradition has been followed mostly by online shops. All online stores are ready to make mad discounts for only 24 hours.
On November 24th, the MarkEyewear online platform will open its gate at midnight with big discounts that will last for 24 hours, that is until 11:59 pm of the same day.
The discounts will be both for prescription and sunglasses:
Sunglasses with uniform lenses: 50% off
Sunglasses with prescription lenses: 50% off
Sunglasses with mirrored lenses: 50% off
Glasses with prescription lenses: 40% discount
It is very simple to activate the discount. Just choose your glasses and at the check-out, enter the discount code BF2017SUN for sunglasses, and BF2017OPT for prescription glasses.
“Black Friday” is the day for deals, and why not taking advantage of it? Perhaps with a good pair of glasses that can help you see deals all year round.
The Monday following Black Friday is Cyber Monday, which is geared more to products in the field of electronics. In 2005, Cyber Monday appeared for the first time. These two days in the same weekend give life to 3 days of convenient shopping, both in traditional stores as well as online platforms.
We also remind you of our consolidated Home Try-On service, that is, a free home test of 5 frames for a week. You can order the box with a maximum of 5 glasses inside, completely free of charge. Inside the box, in addition to the frames, there will be: date for picking up the box after 7 days by DHL, the regulations of the Home Try-On, and an illustrative flyer.
